Thank you for renewal of your
memberships for 2002. If you are still to renew your membership, you wont have
received with this Newsletter a calendar of events for 2002. If you have, there
will be one with this Newsletter. Any problems, contact Barbara.
Weve now finished putting the
finishing touches to the main event of this year, the visit of 69 of our
friends from Millau. Weve got them all hosted now, thanks to the offers of
many members and following adverts in the press. ECHO DES AVENS, a brilliant
Jazz\street band have around 40 of their members as a part of the trip and will
be playing at a number of venues over the week.
On Monday night and Tuesday
afternoon, our friends from Echo des Avens will be playing in Bridlington, on
Monday at a couple of bars and on Tuesday, in the town. Just listen out for the
sounds you wont be able to miss them!!!
There are a number of
opportunities for you to join in with the fun for the week even if you are not
hosting. On Tuesday 9th April, there is a BARN DANCE at Emmanuel
Church which starts at 7.00pm. Tickets are £2.50 each which include chilli,
rice and French Bread. There will also be a bar.
On Thursday 11th
April, we are having our leaving party at the Bell in Driffield. This promises
to be a spectacular night and we are also putting on some coaches to take
people from Bridlington to Driffield. The coaches depart at 7.00pm from
Hilderthorpe Road coach park and leave from the Bell at 12.30am. If you dont
want to take advantage of the coach, then come to the Bell for 7.30pm. Tickets
for the night are £12.50 per person, £7.50 for under 16s which will include a
four course dinner and fabulous disco in superb surroundings. Tickets for the
coach are at £2.50 return per person.
If you would like to join us on
either of these two, then just fill in the slip in the FINAL COMMENT and return
it to Chris as soon as possible.

FINAL COMMENT
Hosting family meeting will take place at the Ransdale Hotel on Monday 18th March at 7.30pm and should last for about one hour. If you have offered your services as a host and have not yet received a letter or phone call, please contact Chris as soon as possible.
